Imagine biting into a cookie that's perfectly soft and chewy, with a deep, fudgy cocoa flavor. That's exactly what these cocoa fudge cookies deliver, and they're surprisingly easy to make with simple pantry ingredients.
The secret to their texture is a combination of melted butter and yogurt, which keeps them moist and tender. They come together in minutes and bake up into a batch of 24 irresistible cookies – perfect for a quick treat or a bake sale.
Ingredients
Converted amounts are rounded.
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray or use silicone baking mats.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, remove from the heat.
- Add the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar to the melted butter. Stir until the mixture looks like coarse sand.
- Stir in the yogurt and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
- Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir just until the flour is moistened and a soft dough forms.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the cookies are just set around the edges but still soft in the center. Let them cool on the baking sheets for 2 to 3 minutes until firm enough to handle, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
💡 Tips
- For best results, use a cookie scoop to get even-sized cookies.
- Do not overbake; the centers will still look slightly underdone when you take them out.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
