Classic Homemade Guacamole

A fresh and creamy avocado dip with zesty lime and a kick of jalapeño, perfect for parties or a quick snack.

This guacamole is all about simplicity and fresh flavors. Ripe avocados are mashed just enough to stay chunky, then mixed with diced onion, tomato, and a hint of jalapeño for heat.

A squeeze of lime juice brightens everything up, while cilantro adds an herby finish. It’s ready in minutes and pairs beautifully with tortilla chips, tacos, or grilled meats.

Converted amounts are rounded.

Method

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Squeeze the juice of one lime over the avocado. Using a fork, mash the avocado to a chunky consistency.
  3. Add the finely diced onion, seeded and diced tomato, minced jalapeño (if using), and chopped cilantro. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Season with salt and pepper. Taste and add more lime juice if needed. Serve immediately.

💡 Tips

  • For the best flavor, use avocados that yield slightly to gentle pressure.
  • If you prefer a smoother guacamole, mash the avocado more thoroughly.
  • To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before refrigerating.
