This layered jello dessert combines two layers of peach jello with a creamy, sweet center made from condensed milk and unflavored gelatin. The result is a beautiful, refreshing treat that's easy to slice and serve.
Perfect for parties or a family dessert, this recipe uses simple ingredients and a bit of patience as each layer sets. The peaches add a lovely fruity touch and a nice texture contrast to the smooth cream layer.
Ingredients
Converted amounts are rounded.
Method
- Prepare the first package of peach jello according to the package directions (use 2 cups ice water for faster cooling). Pour into a 9x13-inch glass dish and refrigerate until set, about 1–2 hours.
- After the first layer has been in the fridge for at least 45 minutes, start the cream layer. In a medium bowl, combine the 2 packets of unflavored gelatin with 1 cup boiling water and stir until fully dissolved. Add 1 cup cold water and stir. Pour in the condensed milk and mix with a spoon until well blended.
- Let the cream mixture sit at room temperature for no more than 45 minutes. Gently pour it over the set jello layer.
- Once the cream layer is nearly set (about 5 minutes in the fridge), arrange the peach slices on top. If you want the peaches to stay in place and not float, place them before the cream is fully set. Return the dish to the fridge to set completely.
- Right after the cream layer goes into the fridge, prepare the second package of peach jello according to the package directions. Let it cool on the counter until it reaches room temperature (about 30 minutes; use ice water for faster cooling).
- Gently pour the room-temperature jello over the set peaches and cream layer. Refrigerate until the entire dessert is fully set. Do not pour warm jello over the cream layer or it will melt and become mottled.
💡 Tips
- For a cleaner look, let each layer set fully before adding the next.
- If the peaches float, gently press them down with a fork before the cream sets completely.
- To speed up cooling, use ice water when preparing the jello.
