This ice cream soda is more of a refreshing drink than a dessert, with scoops of ice cream floating in fizzy soda or cola, plus a touch of syrup. It’s creamy, fluffy, and perfect for a hot day.
Start with very cold milk or cream, add chocolate syrup, then drop in the ice cream and top with sparkling water. Finish with whipped cream, a maraschino cherry, toasted almonds, and chocolate sprinkles for a fun, indulgent treat.
Ingredients
Converted amounts are rounded.
Method
- Pour the very cold heavy cream (or milk) into a tall glass, ideally a stemmed milkshake glass.
- Add the chocolate syrup and stir until the milk turns chocolatey.
- Drop in the two scoops of your chosen ice cream.
- Fill the glass with the very cold sparkling water or soda.
- Top with whipped cream, then garnish with a maraschino cherry, toasted sliced almonds, and chocolate sprinkles.
- Serve immediately with a long spoon.
💡 Tips
- Use very cold ingredients for the best fizz and texture.
- For a non-dairy version, substitute the cream/milk with full-fat oat or coconut milk.
- If you prefer a cola float, replace the sparkling water with cola.
