Herb-Infused Marinated Feta in Olive Oil

A simple yet flavorful way to elevate feta cheese by marinating it with herbs, spices, and olive oil. Perfect as an appetizer or part of a meze platter.

This marinated feta is incredibly versatile and easy to prepare. You can customize it with your favorite herbs and spices, making it a unique addition to any cheese board or meze spread.

The key is to use good quality feta and extra virgin olive oil. The marinating process infuses the cheese with the aromas of rosemary, oregano, lemon zest, and chili, creating a deliciously tangy and savory treat.

Method

  1. Place your favorite herbs in a jar. I love the combination of rosemary and oregano.
  2. Add the feta cubes.
  3. Add some lemon zest and peppercorns.
  4. Add 1-2 chilies or crushed red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour enough oil to come almost to the top of the jar.
  6. Seal and leave at room temperature 1-2 hours.
  7. Place in the refrigerator at least 2 days before serving.
  8. Enjoy!

💡 Tips

  • Use a clean, sterilized jar to prevent spoilage.
  • You can adjust the herbs and spices to your taste; dried herbs work well too.
  • For best flavor, let it marinate for at least a week.
