This Negroni punch takes the beloved bitter-sweet cocktail and transforms it into a crowd-pleasing pitcher drink. By gently muddling orange slices with sugar and gin, you extract bright citrus oils that balance the herbal Campari and sweet vermouth.
A splash of chilled soda water (or a mix of soda and Prosecco) adds a light spritz, making it less intense than the original yet still complex. Serve over ice in tumblers with an orange slice for a simple, elegant party drink.
Ingredients
Converted amounts are rounded.
Method
- Place the sliced oranges in a large jug. Add the caster sugar and gin. Using the end of a rolling pin or a cocktail muddler, gently press and twist the oranges to release their oils and juice. Let the mixture sit for at least 15 minutes to infuse.
- When ready to serve, pour in the Campari and sweet vermouth, then stir well to combine. Top up with the chilled soda water (or the soda water and Prosecco mixture). Fill tumblers with ice, add a fresh orange slice to each, and pour the punch over the ice.
💡 Tips
- For a stronger punch, let the orange mixture infuse for up to 1 hour.
- If using Prosecco, add it just before serving to keep the fizz.
- Use a large ice block instead of cubes to dilute more slowly.
