This is the perfect recipe when you're craving a warm, cheesy pie but don't have time for a traditional dough. The batter comes together in one bowl, and the result is a golden, puffy pie with a tender crumb.
Serve it as a snack, appetizer, or alongside a salad for a light meal. It's best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, when it's still warm and fragrant.
Ingredients
Converted amounts are rounded.
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a small, shallow baking dish (about 20x20 cm or similar).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, milk, eggs, crumbled feta, soda, butter, and pepper. Mix well until you have a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish. The mixture should be no more than 2-3 cm deep.
- Bake for about 25 minutes, until the pie is puffed up and golden brown on top.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
💡 Tips
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of dried oregano or mint to the batter.
- If you don't have a small dish, use a larger one; the pie will be thinner and bake a bit faster.
- The soda (carbonated drink) helps the pie rise; you can substitute with sparkling water if preferred.
