These little parcels are the perfect bite: flaky, buttery phyllo wrapped around a savory, creamy filling, then finished with a touch of honey for that classic Greek sweet-and-salty combo. They're easy to assemble and bake up beautifully golden, making them a great choice for parties, meze, or a light lunch.
You can prepare them ahead and freeze them before baking, so they're always ready when you need a quick, impressive appetizer. Serve them warm, straight from the oven, with a generous drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds.
Ingredients
Converted amounts are rounded.
Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix the crumbled feta, ricotta, lemon zest, and egg until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place a second sheet on top and brush that one with butter as well.
- Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of the filling near one end of the phyllo. Fold in the sides and roll it up into a neat parcel. Place the parcel seam-side down on the prepared tray.
- Brush the tops of the parcels with the remaining melted butter.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the parcels are golden brown and crispy.
- While still warm, drizzle generously with honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
💡 Tips
- If the phyllo dries out while working, cover the unused sheets with a damp towel.
- For extra flavor, toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- These parcels can be assembled ahead and frozen before baking; bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.
